Okay, I was going through the ahajokes site some more (there's some good stuff there, some not so good), and came across this. I want to send this to all the TSO people I know! ;)

OMG, great joke courtesy of Gail! And another! Hehehe ... as soon as she read about AM she said "OMG you need to share!!!!" Here's another good one from that second site. And I recommend you click the link at the bottom to "Visit the next cartoon or funny picture!", but I take no responsibility for what you will find there.

I just woke up, remembered I left the car windows down, fixed that, and felt like writing something. Now that I'm here, though, I can't keep my eyes open. Time to go back to sleep and dream about AM some more.

KV just sent me this. Ooookayy... Trade Wars 2002 anyone? If you don't want to follow her, you can click mine instead. When I first logged in, there was an ad for SitePal. It looks pretty cool now that it has TTS capability!

Yup, once again I have been sucked into the American Idol finale. I was already told that Ruben won anyway. Poor AM, she's still sick and miserable. :(

What a busy and incredibly productive day today! And so much going on even after I got home... I can't believe Buffy is over. It's over. Gone. No more. And the end was amazing! At least 24 will be back next season. I was kind of distracted for the last 10 minutes of it, thought it would just be wrap-up stuff, but NO ... the president was smeared with something RIGHT at the end. The final shot was him seeing the white stuff on his hand and then passing out. It looked like they wanted us to think it's anthrax, but it doesn't work that fast. Nice little addition in this last episode of the season; there is a new bad guy to carry us on to next season, and a new crisis already, sooo soon after the last one was averted. And that was actually a two-in-one; the bomb, then the retaliation, both had to be stopped. Tomorrow, the finale of American Idol is on; I might actually watch it, just like last season. The West Wing isn't on tomorrow anyway, I think last week was the season finale. I'm not sure, I taped it but I haven't been able to watch it yet. Do you know what I love about blogs? A person can talk about whatever crosses his or her mind, from the inane to the profound; usually the former. I can write about whatever I want, and who's going to care? Of course, that works both ways; I could write something I'm very proud of, and nobody would be there to read it. I think there is a certain elegance to this system. Most people who write well do so not to attract attention -- anyone can grab a few eyeballs, only a few can garner a real following -- but because they truly care for what they are doing. It is passion that separates the great from the mundane! When it comes to writing, I have no illusions as to which category I fall into, but I don't care; I am having fun. :D Yet, I cannot tell you how many times I have hit the edit button on this post. I am not satisfied with the sentence starting with "Most people who ...". Argh. Time for some Z's.

Tony says: "These look pretty cool. They have 128MB of storage so you can do away with your keychain drive!" USB Memory Watch. Oh. My. Fucking. God. I'm sure this is being oversimplified, but check out this link Charlie sent... Oregon says unlawful labelling of an MP3 is "terrorism" Last but not least, Gail is "Captain B. Pipesmoker"! :D

AM is ill. :'( One of my coworkers said in an email "Angus Pudgorny, what do you mean?" Of course I wanted to find out what he was talking about, so I Googled for it. It didn't find any matches, but it said "Did you mean: Angus Podgorny". So I click on the link and the first match is "ANGUS PODGORNY". You'll have to see it for yourself. Make sure you click the link that says "throws up" as well. After I recovered from reading that, I did continue through the Google results and found out who Angus Podgorny is.

OMG, I decided to check my email before I go to bed, and my inbox has 248 items, 197 unread. This is unreal. Unfortunately, it's not unusual. The bulk of the unread messages are automated messages; system self-checks, monitoring reports, alerts, et cetera. Fun fun fun. I think I'll sort through some of them before I go to sleep. Good thing I have Alluna or I'd never be able to sleep. Wow, 106 of those messages are just from root on various machines. Five from slashdot -- wow, I'm falling behind. Not to mention I haven't had time to read the daily slashdots for months. I'm falling behind even on just filing them into their nice little folder. Yes, I know I could set up a rule, but then I would forget about them completely. Besides, I like to keep the last day or two in my inbox so they sync to my Jornada so I can read when I'm taking a break alone ... even though I haven't had time for that in months either. From SiteScope: 14 daily reports, 3 weekly reports, two CPU warnings (note to self: raise warning threshold), and three errors. This stupid reminder I set up to clean up /tmp on keeps popping up, but I can't dismiss it until I confirm that the automated process is working, which I don't feel like doing tonight. So I keep hitting snooze like a dumbass without increasing the snooze time from 5 minutes. NTS: raise the snooze to 8 hours next time. Of course, there are the obligatory three messages from "System Administrator" saying my mailbox is over its size limit. Three messages: Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights. Naturally. My automated archiving and deletion just can't keep up with the flood of email. Too many things require my actual attention (as opposed to just storing for lookup if needed), or are one-offs that I can't handle easily with filters. Let's not even talk about the "Followup" folder where I place the things that don't require my immediate attention but I want to get back to "sooner or later". It always ends up being "later", of course. On another topic, I've never started a blog before because I didn't have anything I wanted to write about. I just did this on a kick today after helping a friend with hers, and now I think I like it. It sucks a little having to be careful not to mention anything that's company private, restricted, or confidential... it interrupts the flow. Okay, that's enough venting for now. Time to SLEEP ... what a concept.

HA ... KV's stoner name is "Nirvana Nickelbag"! I can't wait to see what AM's is! :D

I flow too much. From the randomly found "my little bitchie attic" I ran across a post containing "my stoner name: Daddy's Little Dimebag". I clicked the link, of course. It turns out that my stoner name is "Mighty Mango Dopefiend". I don't really feel that this name represents me, but whatever. It's just a toy. Mighty Mango Dopefiend?! grrr
